As with previous matches the first set was a tense affair with Northants taking a slight advantage winning the set 6-5. The start of the second set Gloucester surged on to win 4 of the first 5 frames then with the next four frames being shared the visitors won the set 7-4 to take a halfway lead of 12-10 The third set saw Gloucester increase their lead only for Northants to peg them back but with no success as the visitors won the set 6-5 to increase their lead to 18-15. The final set saw Northants raise their game winning 7 of the last 8 frames to win the set 9-2 to take the match with a score line of 24-20 Man of the Match for Northants was Tony Illingworth winning 3 from his four frames.
Northants ‘A’ side came up against their Gloucester counterparts looking to increase their lead at the top of the table and were made to work for it but they took the first set 6-5 after winning the last 3 frames. The run continued into the second set as Northants took the first four frames but after a mini revival by the visitors they took the set 7-4 giving them a halfway lead of 13-9. On the restart Gloucester rallied together to win the third set by 6-5 but this was to be their last taste of success as Northants finished strongly to win the last set 7-4 and take the match by a winning margin of 25-19. Man of the Match for Northants was Richard Gormley winning all four of his frames.
